Changing Communities was a 3 year project (started in 2008) funded by the Capacity Builders ChangeUp programme to develop a range of partnership projects that support sustainability and involve grassroots community organisations.
CWA is working in partnership with the following projects:
BLAG (Barrack Lane Allotment Group) - a community allotment project in Truro. TWIG (The Woodland Initiative Group). Bugle Greenspace. Tamar Community Composting. Penzance Wormery Project - a Penwith Environmental Network pilot project. Plan-It Earth Partnership Project. St Merryn Allotments and Community Garden Project - a community garden and allotments project. Cornwall Scrap Store and Chyan Community Field
The aim of Changing Communities is to create new sustainable enterprises through collaboration with community organisations. CWA’s role is to facilitate the partnerships, liaise with other support organisations, provide management support and mentoring, advice and information, help with fundraising and access to appropriate training.
We have recently carried out an interim evaluation report.
ChangeUp is a national government programme to strengthen the third sector (community, voluntary groups and social enterprises). It aims to improve performance so that organisations deliver effective services. In Cornwall, Capacity Builders ChangeUp also funds the ‘Cornwall Infrastructure Partnership’.
