Beach litter has almost doubled over the last 15 years. Animals often get trapped or mistake the litter for food, causing death by drowning, suffocation or starvation. The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) need your help to put an end to this. MCS’s Beachwatch Big Weekend is now in its 18th year and is the most influential fight against marine litter in the UK. This year the weekend is taking place on the 17th and 18th September at beaches across the UK.
If you would like to help out as a volunteer* or as a beach clean organiser in your local area visit MCS’s website to register today.
* CWA is organising its annual Big Beach Clean on Marazion Beach on SUNDAY 18th SEPTEMBER and require volunteers on the day.
