Further household waste consultation in Cornwall

There is a new opportunity to help the local authority decide upon the frequency of collections for waste and recyclables in Cornwall.

Cornwall Council were unable to make a definite decision last year following the results from the waste survey, this has now resulted in an additional follow up consultation on their website.

It’s a very simple exercise, you either opt for option A or B:-

A: We will collect your household food waste and rubbish weekly and your recycling and garden waste fortnightly

B: The Council will collect your household food waste and recycling weekly and your rubbish and garden waste fortnightly.

Cornwall Waste Action, only endorse option B as it is the only sustainable option, as we need to maximise recycling and reduce landfill.  Option B is clearly the right solution on both environmental and economical grounds, therefore we would encourage residents of Cornwall to take part in this further consultation and vote for option B.
