Cornwall recycling and waste survey

Cornwall Council is currently reviewing the way your recycling and waste is collected and they are most interested in the views of Cornish residents.

Recycling and waste collections are provided to every resident in Cornwall. The council want to continue to provide efficient collections which offer residents value for money.

We produce over 285,206 tonnes of waste each year in Cornwall, and are only recycling 37% of this. Waste that is not recycled or composted is sent to landfill, where it rots and creates gases which add to global warming. This is costing the Council over £19 million per year.

Recycling and composting of waste is cheaper and is better for the environment. It is therefore important that we maximise opportunities for recycling and composting through the design of our waste collection services.

Please take part in our short survey to tell Cornwall Council your views. The consultation will run from 15 November to the 31 December 2010.

If you have any queries please call the Refuse and Recycling team on 03001234 141

Please note: paper copies of this survey are also available at the Council One Stop Shops and libraries.
