Autumn 2010 update

Compost Mentors – Achievements (Mid and West Cornwall)
The Truro and St Austell mentors have now been active for a couple of months, and they seem to be an exceptionally active group of volunteers, as they have already mentored over 60 households, and completed more than 530 hours of volunteering. This is very encouraging.

CWA also want to congratulate the 10 mentors (from both West and Mid Cornwall groups) who have volunteered for over 20 hours and have been rewarded with vouchers from Tamar Organics. Well done!

UCP Contribution to Environmental Sustainability Award

On 27th October Marie received the UCP Contribution to Environmental Sustainability Award for her work on the Compost Mentors Scheme. Unlocking Cornish Potential “matches graduates with progressive Cornish companies to fuel innovation, growth, creativity, competitiveness and economic prosperity in Cornwall” (as said on their website).  CWA has been supported by UCP for the first year of the project. It has been a very productive partnership as Marie has received a substantial amount of free training, as well as the opportunity to be supported and mentored by people experienced in the environmental and composting sectors.
